Domestic Wi-Fi speeds: are they affected in any way by IP connection type, VDSL/ADSL?

Provided one has a suitably able modem router, does the faster connection over VDSL affect the domestic Wi-Fi connections one may achieve?

Most like this is a silly question, or something just assumed, but never questioned.

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

Simplistically, the speed you get is the speed of the slowest leg of the connection between the endpoints.

However, you may be asking about type of WiFi signal with various modem/routers - most modern devices are dual band and the type of connection is variable/cost related, made confusing by manufacturers giving the "total" available bit rate, eg 900Mb/s = 600Mb/s @ 5MHz + 300Mb/s 2.4GHz - throughput is always lower due to overheads and/or contention.
