Domain email catch-all

Hi all,
I registered a domain via Plusnet last week. Looking at email settings I was expecting my catch-all alias for username.force9.co.uk to also work for mydomain.co.uk too. However, the only address @mydomain.co.uk that works is if I prefix it with the name of my mailbox e.g. mailbox@mydomain.co.uk.
I want anything@mydomain.co.uk to go to the same place as anything@username.force9.co.uk. Should it do this automatically or have a missed a setting? I've searched the support pages and the forums but can't find anything up to date regarding this.
Many thanks,
Jerry

Re: Domain email catch-all

not sure what the difference is, but I have in  effect three, @free-online.co.uk  @idps.co.uk  (I dont pay subscriptions) and the one I got in the mail hack a few years back  @username.me.uk  all are interchangable ie mr@  and any of the suffixes all go to the same box

Re: Domain email catch-all

I was expecting anything before @mydomain.co.uk to go to the same place as  anything before @username.force9.co.uk but it doesn't. Before I raise a ticket I thought I'd ask here first in case I've done something stupid! Anyone else?

Re: Domain email catch-all

It should work as you expected. Try turning the catchall off and then on again to see if that kicks it in to life.

Re: Domain email catch-all

You referred to your catch-all being an alias rather than a mailbox. My catch-all is a mailbox and mail sent to anything@mydomain.co.uk ends up in my catch-all mailbox @username.force9.co.uk.
So is the different behaviour you have due to your catch-all being an alias?

Sorry wrong term! I meant mailbox.

Okay, I'll give that a try. Failing that I'll raise a ticket. Thanks.

Re: Domain email catch-all

Interesting. I logged into email settings and a new postmaster alias appeared.  Shocked Anyway, I turned the catch-all off and back on as suggested and I'm pleased to say everything now works as I expected. Many thanks.
