DNS changes for split hosting - base+sub domains on static IP with www still on homepages.plus.net

Hi,

I have a static IP and I have the following settings for DNS

  • www.myhostname.co.uk hosted under homepages.plus.net as a specified sub directory
  • all other <subdomain>.myhostname.co.uk entries as A records to my static IP.

This has the downside that the base domain myhostname.co.uk resolves to homepages.plus.net by A record and www.myhostname.co.uk is a CNAME of myhostname.co.uk

Is there any way to keep hosting only www.myhostname.co.uk  at homepages.plus.net but have an A record for myhostname.co.uk pointing to my static IP ?

so, if my static IP is 123.123.123.123, I want

myhostname.co.uk     A  123.123.123.123
www.myhostname.co.uk A 212.159.8.91 <- first DNS A record for homepages.plus.net
www.myhostname.co.uk A 212.159.9.91 <- second
abc.myhostname.co.uk A 123.123.123.123
def.myhostname.co.uk A 123.123.123.123
ghi.myhostname.co.uk A 123.123.123.123
...

without losing hosting for www.myhostname.co.uk on homepages.plus.net ?
