Not sure what a terminal window is, but will treble check everything, the message is the same one I've been getting since all this started, like I have said, except for when one of your colleagues remoted my mac non of our settings have been changed from the ones we have always used

Spooky (BOO)
when I opened mail I found that there where no messages in my out-box, the test ones that were in there were found sitting in my sent box timed at 12:25 and 2 x 15:58
I have sent another which just flew away
I have no idea why this should now happen,
NOW to test the wifes acct's on the pc

hooray (whispered because I'm afraid to shout in case it doesn't last)
Put the wifes settings back to how they were and have managed to send test between us from there so it looks like we are up and running. Not bad, only 18 days to do what I had presumed would be a seamless switch from broadband to email and hosting. Now to get those e-mails replied to.
