Copyrighted infringement email

I had an email on Friday stating as fact that my internet connection had been used to illegally share copyrighted material; which I can categorically state as incorrect.

I have searched the forums here and see that this is not an isolated incident, so I wanted to add my voice to those saying that it is not acceptable to accuse innocent paying customers of illegal activity.

For the record, at the time of the alleged incident no-one was at home and no computer was running uTorrent, I have never heard of the film, and neither has my wife or 4 year old, who are the only people at my residence.  My wifi connection is secure and I live in a rural location with only a couple of neighbours who present no threat to my internet connection. I haven't been able to verify my IP address at the time, hopefully your staff can investigate.  Is it possible that someone has spoofed my IP address in a completely different location?

The details sent to me are listed below, I await your response.

Thanks
