Cant Connect to my website via FTP program

I seem to be unable to set up an FTP connection to my webspace (using FireFTP)
To connect I do the following :
I set (FireFTP) or (IE7) to point at ftp.plus.net
use my username : jonjoyce
and then my password for the main Plus-net site.
I am getting an login incorrect error - unable to make a connection.
Is there a problem with my webspace or am I connecting incorrectly

How long has your webspace been active?

Since 10 Jan this year
Been having problems connecting since then , but been trying to work out if the problem is on my side !

If you direct Internet Explorer 7 to your FTP space via: ftp://yourusername:yourpassword@ftp.plus.net (if you are using simple HTML) or ftp://yourusername:yourpassword@ccgi.jonjoyce.plus.com (if you use the CCGI servers), what exact error message are you given? The exact error will help resolve the issue.

That brings up the IE log on box for me to enter my user name and password.
I enter the details and the box then reappears with the details blanked out , i don't receive an error message at all .

Then it is an authentication issue, more than likely a mis-spelled password. If you are sure you are typing it correctly (the same password used in your modem/router configuration to connect to your PlusNet service), then try resetting your password and using that one. I've not been around for a while, so I don't know of any known issues with connecting to webspace.

It just seems a bit bizzare that my broadband and email etc.. are all OK with the same password

Erm, no i have never changed my password since i joined, so by rights my password for FTP should be the same ?
Im struggling to find out what im doing wrong to be honest !

The method I told you makes a simple connection to the FTP server using the username and password provided in the address. If it gives another log-in box, then there is an authentication issue. Make sure you aren't including your full username (e.g. joebloggs@plusdsl.net, use only joebloggs) and remember that your log-in credentials are case-sensitive.

Im pretty positive im getting the password correct as i use it to access the PlusNet website etc,
So I should change my password and maybe try again ?
Is this something worth raising as a fault ?

You havnt by any chance uploaded a lot of info to your site, because recently if you overloaded your web space they shut you off

Can log in without problems now, I can see one of my colleagues replied to the ticket on your account and refreshed the webspace component. Let us know if you have any problems.

Everything working fine now ! - Glad it needed a reset and wasn't something i was doing
