Cannot transfer in a domain

Hi,
I am trying to transfer in a domain but whenever I fill in the form, I get the message:
There's a problem with your details
Please enter a name or company name as the registrant
However, there is no field to put in registrant name!!  I have tried filling in all the fields but keep getting this error.
I logged this with PN support yesterday morning but no reply as yet, so thought I would try here to see if anyone knows anything that might help.

Re: Cannot transfer in a domain

Is the domain a business domain or an individual domain.
Did you select the appropriate type from the drop-down?

Re: Cannot transfer in a domain

It's an org.uk.  I tried Individual and UK Charity - neither worked.  It looks like its asking for a field to be filled in that doesn't exist - there is no "registrant" field.

Re: Cannot transfer in a domain

Does this domain already exist? i.e. is the registering agent a different company? If you're wanting to transfer the domain in for hosting only then the online forms won't work as they're only really designed to deal with full transfers or new registrations.

Re: Cannot transfer in a domain

Are you aware of the very high cost to renew domains through plusnet. in your case it's £52.88 for 2 years.
It is far cheaper to keep the registration where it is (or move it to one of the many cheaper domain registration companies - I use www.daily.co.uk) and just arrange hosting on your account. For example, daily charge £2.95/year + VAT = £7.08 for 2 years.

Re: Cannot transfer in a domain

OK, so it turns out the form has been "turned off" and you now have to raise aticket to transfer in.  This is progress but currently having a nightmare getting PN to update the DNS!!

Re: Cannot transfer in a domain

Hi there,
I've just checked your account and there's three domains hosted there; whois lookups on all three are showing our nameservers as well so it all looks good from this end. Is there another domain you're needing moved over at the moment?

Hi Matt,
Many thanks - it all finally got resolved this afternoon.  Something about automatic updates/changes not happening for some reason.

My understanding is that while hosting of up to 5 domains is free, only one of the five will get free registration renewal and that you will have to pay the very expensive Plusnet charge for renewal of the others.
You need to take note of Peter's advice in reply #5

Re: Cannot transfer in a domain

Hi mooer,
I suspect the email was down to DNS updating, has that sorted itself out now?

Re: Cannot transfer in a domain

<sigh>No, it is ongoing... sadly I am not convinced it will be resolved and I may have to transfer out again...
