Can't reach NS&I login page

The secure section of a financial institute is never going to respond to a ping or any similar network check.

I was trying to log into my NS&I account today and came across this problem.

After searching, I found this article on the Express website:

https://www.express.co.uk/finance/personalfinance/1923359/premium-bonds-nsi-nsandi-Plusnet

which specifically mentions Plusnet.

@RichT It may have 'specifically' mentioned Plusnet, but they are not the only ISP involved.

I doubt if the NS&I spokeman knows the difference between the front end and back end of a Banking system.

Probably stuck his head in the Computer room "Everything alright lads ? good......"

This thread has seemed to be in an infinite loop

Like others here I can not use my plus net connection.

It is NOT a DNS issue, every DNS server I have checked always resolves secure.nsandi.com to 157.203.60.156

157.203.60.156 does not respond to ICMP/ping so trace route and mtr (my trace route) will not complete.

I performed some basic check the other day and found this

Using my Vodafone hotspot I note when clicking on Login from https:/nsandi.com it redirects you to

https://secure.nsandi.com/thc/policyenforcer/pages/loginB2C.jsf?

But if I use https://secure.nsandi.com  the browser reports "secure.nsandi.com redirected you too many times."

So something has changed and maybe now https://secure.nsandi.com is an invalid link.

So use 'Login' from the main site https://www.nsandi.com  NOT https://secure.nsandi.com

@Dan_the_Van What you say makes perfect sense - I discovered and reported that route a while back  on here. Maybe NS&I should be advising customers they have broken/invalidated that direct link?

The link on the main page for logging in goes to https://www.nsandi.com/Login which certainly works for me.

This then takes you to a lower level page within the "secure" hierarchy to enter your credentials.

My simplistic assumption is that the address used at the very start of this thread was never intended to be saved as a login link and due to changes no longer works at all.

The link on the main page is the one that I have been trying all today and it just times out without showing anything.

I have used the Login link from the main NS & I page from the very start and the issue is still there. I have never tried to just use secure.nsandi.com etc etc directly in the browser.

@Dan_the_Van Corrected,  now good, have you noticed the log in link on the menu page tries to load https://www.nsandi.com/login  ?

I have noticed the /Login link but it seems to redirect to the long link I posted previously

There seems to an issue with some Plusnet subnets not connecting. Other Service Providers networks it may just be the secure.nsandi.com link doesn't work

I'm having the same issue on 15 July 2024.

When I spoke to NS&I they are telling customers that it is specifically Plusnet that is causing the problem.  If Plusnet disagree they need to contact NS&I!!

I have managed to login via EE 4G network - so it's not a problem on the EE network (i.e. not affecting all BT-owned networks).

This is very frustrating!!
