Can't FTP to GoDaddy

Can't connect to FTP to GoDaddy i was told by Plusnet "it is likely that it is some sort of encryption that is blocking it "
I have tried using laptop and reinstall pc but same issue.

Which FTP client are you using? Is it set to use Active or Passive mode?
Is the broadband firewall turned on?

Sorry for late reply.
Using FileZilla and have tried others.
I have tried it with all Firewalls off broadband and PC and also tried setting myself as DMZ.
