CSS not working

Before I say anything - please note, I have limited knowledge of web design / programming.  If you are kind enough to reply, please don't blind me with science
Ok - the above page displays perfectly when I load it locally.  When I load it to my web space, half of the css styles are missing.  Am I doing something stupid / missing something obvious?

Looks good to me, other than some of the images missing.
Obviously I have no idea what it's supposed to look like.

Don't forget to close tags, your using xhtml stict, not html
