CCGI Platform: access and future plans

Hello, I am sure there are a myriad of posts on these subjects. Can I just get simple answers to some questions please?
1. I see SSH is blocked to the CCGI platform - when will this be resolved?
2. In the meantime, how do I access my CCGI area to add/remove files ?
3. What is happening to the Plesk trial ?
Thanks!

Re: CCGI Platform: access and future plans

1. They're not giving a date in case it slips, latest comment is "a few weeks". My bet is not this side of Christmas for the replacement boxes to be live.
2. FTP hasn't been blocked - you should be able to add/delete files using that.
3. Abandoned - they're building a new CCGI system instead

Re: CCGI Platform: access and future plans

Are you trying to connect from a Plusnet connection?

Re: CCGI Platform: access and future plans

I'm trying to connect from a BT broadband connection - which hasn't been a problem before.
Due to circumstances, I can't get to my Plus net (Free-online) connection as I am in temporary accomodation and my connection is 200 miles away.

Re: CCGI Platform: access and future plans

You have to be connected via a Plusnet connection. Plusnet ran a trial for a couple of years called RIN whereby Plusnet users connected over the BT Retail network, because of that they had to open up the CCGI FTP to the BT Retail IP ranges as there was no other way to identify them (I know all about this because I was one of the RIN trialists). The RIN trial has ended and all users returned to the normal Plusnet network, therefore the BT Retail IP ranges have been removed from those permitted. Your previous ability to FTP to CCGI was just a happy accident of the trial.
Edit: You can't have been on for a while because the RIN trial ended a few months back.

Re: CCGI Platform: access and future plans

A suggestion: Could you set up remote control of a PC on your home connection and do what you need remotely?
