CAnnot delete file called ().dat

Ive managed to create a file called ().dat on my webspace and I cant delete it, Im getting a 550 error when I try.
Any ideas how I might get around this?

Will it let you rename the file to (say) a.dat? Then delete that?

Can you enclose the filename in single quotes when selecting it for deletion - '().dat'

do these files carry attributes?  if so, changing the attribute might allow you to delete.
