C_DOCUMENT_ROOT has gone and DOCUMENT_ROOT is not valid.

I found that C_DOCUMENT_ROOT does not exist anymore, and DOCUMENT_ROOT does not point to my space.
In my Perl script I used `pwd` to find out where my guest books are.
Is it possible to have C_DOCUMENT_ROOT back, or better have DOCUMENT_ROOT set correctly.
My guest book are working againt. More at http://www.dougrice.plus.com/hp/gbbook/index.htm
Best wishes,
Doug

DOCUMENT_ROOT is quite valid for the security model, though not helpful for users.
My post here has more on this including a link to a staff post on the topic.
