BT Speed test wonked

Just an update, tried it on imac with firefox, worked ok.

Just tried it on IOS (iPhone) with safari and still zero upload speed.

I'll try some other Browsers.

Oops forgot to add, only down-speed displayed, up-speed 0Mbs on the firefox test.

Been like that since last Thursday 0Mbps upload and if you do additional diagnosis it reports that no fault found. If you report the problem with P/N (they use this data for faults) they say report the problem to BT. However on the additional diagnosis page question 8

Q8. What should I do if I have difficulty running the Broadband Performance Tester?

A8. If you have any difficulties in running the tester then please contact your Broadband Provider.

For months the previous version of the BT speed tester used to display what seemed to be an accurate download speed, but a totally fictitious upload speed (i.e. higher than is theoretically achievable by ADSL2+)

The new version still seems to register the correct download speed, but an equally fictitious upload speed (0 Mbps) on both tests.

So, still rubbish, but prettier! 😁

Yipee get 83Mbs dl on Safari with attenuation of 32Mbs

Oh, only 20Mbs on Firefox 😞

Still look on the bright side, I get an upload speed greater than zero.

Should I move to BT when my PusNet contract is over?, Answers on a beer map !!

The BT speed test does not work on Safari see here: https://www.fasterbroadband.co.uk/guides/bt-broadband-speedtester

It will work and be more accurate if you use Google Chrome

Works fairly well on Firefox - and I don't get the warning mentioned in the link.

I think that's Firefox on Mac that has the security issue. What version are you using?

FF on W7 - which explains it!😉
