Re: BGP security

Yes, I read that too. The topic is well over my head. AAISP's response was not wholly negative, just wondering if PlusNet had a view on the subject.

Re: BGP security

Fix
The thing is end users shouldn’t need to know or worry, it’ll be over most customers heads and the Cloudflare stunt won’t help anyone and just confuse.

Using RPKI to protect the Internet from BGP hijacks

Is plusnet planning on implementing Resource Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI) any time soon?

Worth having a read of A&As response to Cloudflare's attempt at FUD...

Re: Using RPKI to protect the Internet from BGP hijacks

Do you mind expanding on your comment?

The blog post seems to acknowledge that the current BGP suffers because anyone is able to advertise in a malicious/mistaken manner. The blog post then says the proposed solution is an issue because an court could issue a warrant to shut off parts of the Internet.

Maybe I've missed something, but surely that's an improvement as the number of people who can make changes is limited?

Interesting discussion about the (mostly) pros and cons in the comment section of this article: https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2020/04/new-cloudflare-tool-can-tell-you-if-your-isp-...
