Are you unable to access a specific web page

We're aware that a small number of customers are having difficulties accessing certain web pages or content due to how the website determine the Geo-location of the user via their IP address.

To reduce the occurrences of this we've reached out to the providers of several of the main Geo-location databases and asked them to correctly report that these addresses are located in the UK.

We've also reached out to individual companies to see if we can help them correctly grant access to the content/pages.

We know though that some users are still having issues and we'd like to help if we can. If you're struggling to access something please reply here with the following information and we will contact the page/content owner and try to get the issue resolved for the you asap.

What we require

  • The page/content shouldn't be available across all your devices on either wireless and wired connections
  • URL of site
  • Your IP, this can be found here
  • Attach a screen shot of the error message.

Note:-

You don't "reach out" to people or companies - you just talk to them. Thumbs_Up

It does look like a geo-location issue, fine on PN not fine on VPN

Re: Are you unable to access a specific web page

I get error 404 - You are not authorised to access this site based on the credentials provided (or words to that effect)  when I use  www.tvguide.co.uk .One minute I can check any channel, then that message appears when I try to access another channel's listings, and I'm blocked from the entire site.  If I leave it for a few minutes and try again, I'm allowed access.  I've just left PN, but this is still happening; I can't remember whether it happened before I joined PN over two and a half years ago.

It can't be an IP issue since my IP hasn't changed in the few minutes I'm blocked, and the UK tv guide is hardly a secret document crucial to national security (although the repeats of Dad's Army might give hostile powers ideas! Grin )

@Jonpe, the link you have included contains .%20 at the end which breaks the link.

Re: Are you unable to access a specific web page

I just typed it into FF and it worked fine, and clicking on it in my post works, too, but I've moved the final full stop so that it no longer forms part of the link.

Re: Are you unable to access a specific web page

%20 is the code for a space in web addresses and can easily be missed because it's a bloody space!
