Any way to see if an engineer booking has happened?

I had an engineer booking today, but the window for it has closed and no one has called. Is there any way to see if the problem was resolved without needing to visit the property?

Re: Any way to see if an engineer booking has happened?

We had a lot of drop outs and resets, id the text reporting and fault finding decided we needed an engineer. Booked for 8.00-13.00. But not had anyone at the house or the nearest cabinet, so just wondering if it happened or is delayed as I could do with getting some other stuff done.

Re: Any way to see if an engineer booking has happened?

@iwbrock Hi there, Just had a quick look into your account to double check the fault we have open for you. The engineer appointment is confirmed and committed for between 8-1, there may be the chance the engineer is stuck on another job and is running late.

Worst case scenario, If no engineer shows today, our offline team should pick this up tomorrow to re-schedule the appointment with you.

All the best

Thats all good, but I had to buy an additional days leave to cover this and I can't do that again this month so I'm going to be £120.00 out of pocket.

@iwbrock If s/he doesn't turn up today, you should be entitled to a 'no-show' payment, but IIRC that is less than £10.00.

Can't be helped. I was told that they may not require access, hence why I wanted to figure out if the job had completed, or if they are delayed.

Re: Any way to see if an engineer booking has happened?

@iwbrock,

Does the issue now seem to be resolved? I checked the account and can see the fault ticket is now closed.

Also, Compensation for a missed engineer appointment is £30.49.

Any and all compensation will be applied within 30 days of the issue being resolved and the fault being closed down.

If the issue is still ongoing please do let us know of course.

Thanks, Lex

Re: Any way to see if an engineer booking has happened?

Re The issue, it's hard to know as it was intermittent, but no recurrence so far. It looks like the work was done on time according to the ticket, but the house was not visited, so I had no way to verify except for the closed ticket, which meant hanging around for no good reason as I had no way of knowing if they had completed or were delayed.

Just the joys of having to rely on Openreach I guess.

Having looked at the ticket again I notice that it has updated since yesterday. It is possible that they may have just re-tested and found that it passed at that time, in which case the fault will not have been fixed.

Hi, thanks for the offer. I'm not dissatisfied as such, It just seems that anything that involves Openreach is just a black hole of non-communication from their side.

Ok, just looked at my up time on the router and it is only 4ish hrs, so I'm guessing it's not been fixed, do I need to re-open the ticket?

Re: Any way to see if an engineer booking has happened?

I am still getting disconnects. I have attached a section of the event log that covers the last disconnect.
