Re: Any progress on this one?

It might help to quote the pertinent posts;
Subject hotmail and gmail accounts blocked in forum

[quote="sexysir"]Is this a Plusnet thing?
I haven't blocked either at my phpbb forum, but have tested this and it says that the e-mail addy has been banned.
Any ideas folks?
[quote="cogilvie"]Hi
It's not something we would have blocked, as the error itself appears to be being generated from PHPBB.
I've just tried this on my test forums, and if I added
*@googlemail.com
as a ban, a GoogleMail address couldn't sign up.
I'd have a look at the ban control panel and make sure...

Re: Any progress on this one?

As the old forums aren't used anymore is this still relevant?

Re: Any progress on this one?

Of course.
People trying to register as my forum (cgi server) with gmail or hotmail are being blocked, but not from anything I've done.

Re: Any progress on this one?

If its your forum then what has it got to do with Plusnet?
If you say its not the block lists then take a look at the code and find out what is happening during the registration phase and isolate the cause.

Re: Any progress on this one?

sexysir is asking for Community assistance with an issue he has with his forum running on the PlusNet CGI space.
As you say this is not a PlusNet issue, but this is the place to ask for assistance.

Sorry; from reading the posts I got the impression he was asking for it to be fixed rather than asking for help.

True, it does not come across well.
