Amazon Fire 8 (8th gen) won’t connect to WiFi

Please can anyone help me from going insane ? I brought an Amazon Fire 8 today and it will not recognise my Plusnet WiFi ! I’m sitting right next to it but it says there’s no signal . Tried all the usual switching off on , followed copious amounts of instructions online etc.. have spent an hour on the phone to Plusnet who couldn’t get it to work ...then an hour and a half to Amazon. Waiting for the next level of technician to call me back . My I phone and printer and new laptop all connect (but now my older computer won’t either ). Any suggestions ... ps I’m not very tech savvy so any instructions in English would be appreciated!

Firstly, which Plusnet Router is it?

And can the Fire Tablet see other WiFi networks?

Just wondered if you've lost your 2.4Ghz WiFi side (assuming the router is dual band).

But as @DaveyH asks: is the Fire seeing other networks? That part is critical.

It’s a plusnet one and not seeing any network ... neither is my old computer now
