Access MySQL Admin

I have been trying the access the mysql admin section for quite a while now and as of yet the page has not even loaded.
I have tried a multitude of browsers with no joy.
Could someone please explain what the problem is and if there is any workaround as it is essential that I am able to access this.
Whilst I do not want to make assumptions, it would seem that the page is unable to load due to high server load. If this is the case then what is the knock-on effect for sites that rely heavily on a database, such as a Joomla site or some other CMS?
Many Thanks!

Re: Access MySQL Admin

It's always worked for me, and I've just accessed it a few minutes ago.
Are you using https://portal.plus.net/tools/phpmyadmin?

Re: Access MySQL Admin

Thanks for the reply. The link in the second post is redirecting me to http://mysql.plus.net/ and the page is still not loading.

Re: Access MySQL Admin

Yes, that link (from the website settings pages) does redirect to https://mysql.plus.net/ but the page loads straight away for me. When I select a server the login screen appears.
Can't see it being a firewall problem - perhaps something is not set correctly on your account?
Edit: just noticed it is 'https' on my url, 'http' on the one you posted.

Re: Access MySQL Admin

Neither http or https are working for me. I have also tried with OpenDNS and with my default DNS with no joy.
Any suggestions?

Re: Access MySQL Admin

Access to the mysql server wasn't affected by the changes just over a week ago. That server was updated last year, but has been in use since October (link). Have you successfully accessed it since then? Does access from PHP work?
Looks like there could be a problem with your account for which a ticket needs to be raised (or ring the CSC).

Re: Access MySQL Admin

This is the first time that I am trying to access it on behalf of my client.

Re: Access MySQL Admin

Are you on a Plusnet connection?  I think it's only available from a Plusnet IP.

Re: Access MySQL Admin

I am not on a Plusnet connection. Is there any known way around this limitation?
Thanks for your attempts to help so far.

Re: Access MySQL Admin

No not directly, I've never seen one.
There is one way I can think you could do it however. Set up remote support to one of clients PC's and connect to that, then use the browser on that to use mysql admin.

Re: Access MySQL Admin

That is actually a very creative workout, congratulations.
I will see if there is anything else that I can do before considering this but I will at least keep it as a potential option.
Thanks.
