ADDFREESTATS - server down? Or service folded?

The Addfreestats software on my web page no longer displays so I can't access my stats.
And I am unable to access their server!
Have they shut up shop and gone bust?

Interesting according to http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/www.addfreestats.com/ it is up but I can't get there and a tracert gives up

Re: ADDFREESTATS - server down? Or service folded?

Neither - it is routing problem from Plusnet - should be sorted out eventually

Re: ADDFREESTATS - server down? Or service folded?

And a follow up question, please:-
I see lots of references on this Forum to WEBSTATS - apparently a service from Plusnet?
Is this something which is the same as ADFRESTATS? Counts page views and visitors?
And if so why use ADFREESTATS?
Have been using it for about two years since leaning about it on this Forum but find the figures given on my free version somewhat suspect.
But it does at least reveal trends. And areas of particular interest. And overseas visitors
Of course, if its gone bust, I shall need to find something to replace it.
Perhaps that something else already available on Plusnet?

Re: ADDFREESTATS - server down? Or service folded?

It's not gone bust at the moment as I can browse it on my phone (T-Mobile).
I've attached a screen shot of the Plusnet webstats of my infrequently visited site.
Clicking on a month in the app gives much more detail for that month.

Re: ADDFREESTATS - server down? Or service folded?

So, if its a "routing problem"  how do I get Plusnet to do something about it?
It's not that I only want to access the Adfreestats web site.
I also want to be able to check my access stats for my web site here: http://www.holywellhousepublishing.co.uk/
The Addfreestats software at the foot of each page is still there when I view source.
But it does not display on screen in normal view.
So I can't click on it to view my page access figures.
Is this what you mean by a "routing problem"?
And how do I get Plusnet to fix it?
Do I have to "raise a ticket"?
And where do I find one?
And what does it cost?
Sorry, kind of getting irritated - please excuse & advise me on what I ought to do.
And are other Adfreestats users having the same problem?
Or is it just me?

Re: ADDFREESTATS - server down? Or service folded?

You need to raise a ticket by logging into the Member Centre of your Plusnet account. Then click Help & Support on the top menu, then Help Assistant in the left hand menu.
Under Technical Support click More, then click Other at the bottom of the list. Type your message in the textbox.
Explain that there appears to be a routing problem from Plusnet to http://www.addfreestats.com (browsing to the site times out), refer to this topic and paste a tracert like those posted earlier in this thread into your ticket.
Finally submit it.
I've raised ticket #61583415 to provide a further report.

If you want to investigate using Plusnet webstats, while you are logged into the Member Centre click Website settings in the left hand menu. Then click Advanced Webstats and click the Activate button. You will have to wait until tomorrow for your initial stats to be generated.
Then visit the same location and click on one of your hosted domain names; enter your account username and password and you will be shown a monthly summary page. Scroll down, click a month name to see detailed stats for that month.

Re: ADDFREESTATS - server down? Or service folded?

Thanks for the advice - quite complicated.
But have followed your advice to the letter.
And hope it leads to results.
Shall wait and see ...
At present would prefer to stick to what I know but would welcome comments from those who are familiar with both ADDFREESTATS and the PLUSNET WEB STATS.
How do they compare?
Which is best?

Re: ADDFREESTATS - server down? Or service folded?

My ticket has been passed to Networks for investigation after they confirmed several computers in Plusnet Towers were unable to reach the site. One can get to the site by using a proxy such as http://anonymouse.org but that won't help for feeding the stats from your pages.
With regard to using Plusnet webstats why not turn them on then form your own opinion from the results? You don't have to make any changes to your pages. If they don't meet your requirements you can always disable them again.

Re: ADDFREESTATS - server down? Or service folded?

A response has been added to my ticket to advise that Plusnet have contacted the technical contact of the network administrators where the routing problem occurs and are awaiting a response.
