windows messenger v msn messenger

Why are there two messengers from microsoft?
I have installed msn messenger and so i want to get rid of windows messenger but there is no where I can see where i can do this. Is windows messenger fully integrated with windows and so cannot be removed?

If you are using xp you can. Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs. Choose Add/Remove Windows Components from the side bar.

Windows Messenger should be at the bottom of the list, remove the tick and click next and finish.

No more Windows Messenger Cheesy

Thanks Graham, but I am using a new version of xp pro and windows messenger does not show up in add/remove programs.
