Keep getting a pop up from AVG, “WARNING Trojan Horse Keenval.B “
Located in C:\system volume information\_restor.
AVG can’t find it when I scan for it .
What do I do next

It won't find it because your scanning options are most probably set to scan for programme files only (exe, com, scr, vbs etc).
The file containing the virus has no extension, so it will not be found. Also it is in the system restoration archive.

The trojan is in your system restore saved files and no programs are allowed to change any files in there so AVG cannot remove it.

To correct this, turn off system restote for all drives which will delete all the saved files, then turn it back on. Then create a manual system restore point.

Then delete all files in your recycle bin and run the full virus check again.

Well put. Didn't know which os so didn't elaborate (saw the hint in the path though!). I always search for virus info on Symantec website. There are usually manual virii removal instructions, which I check after any automated disinfection to ensure all remnants gone.
