Oh dear sygate is NOT going to be available from tomorrow, - symatec took it over! Yet another free firewall bites the dust!

I'd prefer to avoid Zonealarm, though I'm not sure why.

Hmm, thats me in the dumps as well.

Looks like a little more searching and research is on the menu. I suppose now sygate is owened by norton its going to get a lot more system intensive and lag your system to high heaven. Like evrything else norton makes.

If it's any help, I've been using the last freeware version of Tiny Personal Firewall (2.0) for the last 4-5 years or so without any problems (on 95, 98, 2000 and XP).

Go for Zone Alarm Pro would be my advice, it's worth paying the money for, otherwise Jetico is a very good free firewall, but does take some setting up.
