sharing large files with my family

I want to start sharing family videos and pictures with my extended family around the UK what is the easiest way to do this? can i use my webspace? or can we somhow link up using our IPs? we all run 2000 pro (except 1 xp machine)4 machines in total.

Use webspace for photos, and as for video, if they are medium-high res and size, find a web provider that offers media streaming as part of the package.

Depends how big you mean. You could get a free Gmail acount with 2 gig disk space and let you friends log in and get them. Just create an account and dont use it for anything personel.

Gmail attachments are limited to 10Mb, so that may not work with video files.

I would go with your own web server option.

Running a webserver would be prime choice, but unless u know what your doing, a system crack is a day away and ure files are out-of-heeeere
