.htaccess

Hi,

i followed the guide in the tutorial to create an .htaccess file in the root folder to stop people from seeing my file lists. now though, i would like to enable viewing again, but only in a specified folder "root/temp" .. i googled a while and got lost pretty quickly, anyone know how to do this?

<Files .htaccess>

order allow,deny
deny from all
</Files>

IndexIgnore *

ErrorDocument 404 /error/404.php

Place the htaccess file just in the directory you want to protect.
Delete (or write a blank) htaccess to the root directory to allow access to that again.

i thought of that, but i have loads of folders going from my main one, then just one folder to "unhide"..it would be a shame to have to remember to include another file each time..

actually, as i type this, i had a brainwave - my website is entirely in my cgi space (with my domain pointing there) - i can just put the files into the normal www space and link to them!

thanks anyhow
