ftp

I have managed to connect to my webspace and upload some files into the htdocs folder. The webpages can be viewed but I cannot see the files in the htdocs folder.
Any Ideas?

Tried IE6

Have just tried using IE6 for ftp and am still unable to view the files on my webspace. It spent a long time looking but eventually timed out and said I may not have permission.
Could my Mcafee firewall have anything to do with it?

ftp

Whats the URL of the files? Are they in your normal webspace or on the CGI server?

ftp

Many thanks fa55dsl but I have managed to solve it.

It was the firewall in fact although it didn't throw up a warning it was obstructing the communication.

I have enabled PASV mode on the FTP software (FTP Explorer)
I must confess I don't know why it has resolved it but it is given as an option to enabling the firewall mode - which didn't work.

Ah well! computers ugh!

ftp probs

Just tried to use a variety of ftp clients this afternoon and keep stalling after submitting correct username and password to ftp.plus.net and ftp-proxy.plus.net

I tried accessing the ftp sites again via ms-dos command prompt and got through, but doing a ls or ls -A it stalled again.

what's happening? Smiley
