be. unlimited

Our exchange is just about to be LLu'd by be. unlimited ,up to 24 meg.

Is this as likely to be as dire as Tiskali Llu ?, for the likes of me -stuck at 1 meg & with little hope of getting better from BT for some considerable time this may be the only option as speeds get higher.
512 & 1 meg are already becoming the 'dialup'speed of today & I wonder if because my line appears to be poor that I may not get much better from LLU

Are you limited to 1M because of distance from your exchange / poor SNR &c.

If so, my understanding of ADSL2+ is that it will not give you any better speed, and possibly may be worse.

If your line isn't up and down like a yoyo it looks as though Be's foray into ADSL2+ works fairly well for most. They supply the router/modem for free and you send it back when you leave so they know the equipment most will be using and provide standard profiles for it.

People can control the target SNR themselves so it's not like the BT anally retentive approach or the Tiscali insistance on 15dB SNR targets

If you want to know more I posted some here http://portal.plus.net/central/forums/viewtopic.php?t=48936&highlight= (including a mistaken idea about the official forum being open to outsiders! Shockedops: ) and there's useful stuff on the unofficial forum run by Irksome here http://www.beforum.co.uk/forum/default.aspx?f=2&m=6130

A great link from the be forums;
http://www.beforum.co.uk/forum/default.aspx?f=2&m=3875

It compares ADSL and ADSL2+ speeds.

All through you need to be getting 5M+ on ADSL to get any real speed increase ADSL2+

Yeah Chilly but you have the advantage with ADSL2+ over MaxDSL and Tiscali's LLU that you have a lot of control over what goes on with your connection as opposed to a faceless committee of engineers and customer support personnel

Chilly

I am 2.4k from our exchange, I had been getting excellent stable 1.5 meg until recently when the exchange equipment decided I shouldn't & now I can't get above 1 meg
