Wishing to confirm something

Hi Everyone

I am sure I read something about it somewhere but can no longer find it.
Can someone let me know please if it possable to use a GPRS enabled mobile phone as a modem on a laptop to use ones Plusnet account: or is GPRS just for contacting the operators(in our case Orange) websites and email accounts, and not designed to be used as a modem. We have successfully used a non GPRS phone as a modem to connect to Plusnet; but I understand GPRS is a little quicker on transfers of data.

Thanks in advance

Please clarify what you mean when you say 'use ones Plusnet account' GPRS can been compared to mobile telephony version of Broadband and as such there is no telephone number to dial. GPRS will give you access to the internet and you will be able to access PN portal.

You will have to set up a dial up network (DUN) on your laptop but most mobile operators should have information or downloads on their websites to do this.
