Windows Media Player 10

I am using Windows Media Player 10 to view Quilters News Network on the Internet. The picture is very dark. I know that my screen is a little darker than most and this is part of the problem. I have it set to maximum brightness. There is an adjustment within Windows Media Player to change the brightness and contrast but on mine it is fixed. I can use the slider to increase the brightness but immediately I release the mouse button the slider moves back to the central position. Please can anyone help?
TIA, Eileen

you can't adjust brightness, contrast or most settings when the video is streaming (live).
You could try and alter the brightness of your screen through start -> settings -> control panel -> display -> settings -> advanced. There may (or may not) be a tab with the make of your graphics card there, if your card and drivers allow it you should be able to alter the brightness amongst other things.
