What's the deal with BT?

I have a BT phone line which I pay rental & calls.

I have a Plusnet broadband connection 8Mb.

Question, if I cancel the BT account (to move to a VOIP phone) will this affect my BB account with Plusnet, i.e. if I no longer pay for the BT line rental does that cut everythiong off :?:

You need a BT line to have ADSL from PlusNet. If you cancel the BT line, you also cancel ALL services on it, including ADSL.

Try this

PN are introducing a BB and calls package that will migrate you from BT to an all PN set up (No bills from BT) follow this link and register your interest.

At first glance it looks a good offer although pricing hasn't been set in stone yet and won't be available till July.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to give me anything I don't already have - on top of your normal DSL subscription they want to charge £11 a month (i.e. the same as what you pay BT already for your POTS line) and you get 240 inclusive minutes (i.e. the same as what you get with a Premier account).

So it just seems that the only difference is that you lose the POTS line (and the ability to dial 999) but save no money in doing so.

Bring the subscription down to £5 and I might consider it...
