Thunderbird with Plusnet

I`m trying to persuade my family to use Thunderbird instead of OE.
They have two computers say Fred and Jane. With OE Jane can use message rules to download her mail and leave Freds on the server and vice versa.I can see no way of doing this with Thunderbird.

Have asked in the Thunderbird forums to no avail and wondered if there were any Thunderbird users out there with Plunet?

Thank you.

Hi,
Thunderbird uses different terminology for this feature. You can add message rules by going to Tools>Message Filters and then selecting new and creating a rule for messages based on specific criteria (i.e. fred@ or jane@)...

I hope that helps,

Yes but there seems to be no "Leave message on server" facility.

When Fred logs on he just wants his mail and not Janes and vice versa!

Thank you.

There is a leave message on server option on the account settings. I do exactly this with my work and home machines. My home machine leaves the messages on the server for a day. The work machine never removes them. So I can pick up email while at work, but they also arrive at home and get saved there for as long as I need.
