Streaming with Windows Media Play

Hi folks

I want to upload some of my music and stream it via Windows Media Player but I'm having no luck. I know about the .wma - .asx files but my player tells me that it doesn't support the protocol.

I've done successfull streaming in the past using Real Player and uploaded the files via FTP, but not everyone has Real Player installed on their machines so I want to go for the Windows option.

Thanks - Jenny Slater

Not everyone has Windows installed, so I fail to see the advantage.
If you've got streaming to work in the past, why change from something that works? More people have or can get Real Player than can use Windows Media Player. Why shut out Linux and Mac users?

Actually, this doesn't look promising for how well Windows Media Player can use the stream, anyway:

Windows Media Player 9 will stream MP3s.
