Split files in email's

Someone needed to send me an email of a picture so they scanned it as a jpg. However, on sending it, it seems to have been split up in the form
Mag-file 17 17.jpg[01/16]
Mag-file 17 17.jpg[02/16] etc
Each email received has an attachment which is of the type
Mag-file 17 17.jpg[01/16].dat
Mag-file 17 17.jpg[02/16].dat
Is there some application that ‘stitches’ these individual components together?

I use Outlook Express
Thanks.

Hold down the control key and click each message in number order i.e. click message containing [01/16] first, then [02/16] etc to [16/16] so you have all 16 selected. Then click message menu item at the top then combine & decode

See if that does it.

You may end up with a file.jpg.dat so just rename it to .jpg and see if you can open it.

Many thanks. Success, and so simple.
