The PlusNet Fax2Email service looks useful for receiving faxes, but what's the best solution for sending them? I have a scanner on my computer, but no conventional fax modem (and nowhere to plug one in -- I'm connected to broadband via WiFi, and it would be a big wiring job to bring a phone socket to the computer). Is there any way (ideally cheap or free!) to use my scanner to read documents and send them out over broadband as faxes? I'm guessing I'll need to subscribe to an Email2Fax service somewhere along the line to convert between ADSL protocols and Fax ones, right?

Thanks in advance,

Tim

Fax2Email is only for incoming faxes and I know of no way that you can send a conventional fax on an ADSL connection.
You will need a normal 56k modem in your PC (or an external one) and connect this to your phone line.
Once you have this then you can use the fax facilities in windows to send.

Well, Googling on "email to fax" gives me 330,000 hits, many of which seem to be offering to do just that, so it looks as if it can be done, I just need to know the best way!

ADSL Guide have a review of http://www.efax.co.uk/

Not cheap at £7.50 per month, but then are going to have to pay for this service.
