Routers and the internet and broadband and networks

Hey All,

I am upgrading to broadband soon so i would like to get my online protection sorted.

I shall be buying a router to network 3 computers together so all can access the net, printer, scanner etc.

But i dont fancy shelling out 3 times over for Norton for the three PC's

I dont really have much knowledge on the router thing, but this will change, i can remember working with one a while back, but i thought it was very cryptic.

Anyway, what is the best solution for firewalls, antivirus's and the like, hopefully there is a legal one which will not need a martgage on the my PC...

any ideas?

Most routers will have some form of firewall built in but you can also run Zone Alarm Free version as well which aso checks for outgoing things like viruses trying to call home.

For Anti Virus I have used AVG free by Grisoft for the last few years and have it on all 4 machines here.
It is now at version 7 and so far it's never let me down.
