Problems with Referrals Banner.

I have added the referrals banner to one of my pages and looking at the page from work it all looks fine.

But it does not display at home on Plusnet ADSL.

I have these three things running, one of them must be blocking it...

1) Firewall on Netgear DG834G

2) Norton Internet Security

3) Windows XP firewall

or its my local Explorer Setting.

Any ideas.

What setting do I check :?:

Running XP, SP1.

Are you running any IP blocking programs such as peer guardian etc?

Problems with Referrals Banner.

No,

Only Norton Internet Security, the Hardware Fire wall in the Modem and Xp's Firewall.

Norton already contains a firewall, so you don't need XP firewall. You'll find your'll get conflicts if you run two firewalls.

Yes yours - actualy it's the timezone in your profile that is set wrong - click on profile at the top and set the timezone field to GMT+1 and save it.

ok. back on topic.

I have turned off XP Firewall and Norton Firewall (for a short test) and no joy.

Looking at the Netgear Firewall every thing inbound is blocked according to the setup.

Will try this next.

What service, if any is ok to turn on?

Problems with Referrals Banner.

Your netgear router inbound rule would not affect this, the inbound rule covers traffic which didn't originate from your PC and that is inbound.

The rule is a default rule and cannot be changed or removed. If you add a rule to allow all inbound traffic, then the firewall on your router might as well not exists and your pc would be left to the protection of Norton Sad

Do you have any outbound rules?

Is the site address, www.jeffkey.plus.com, since I just tried the address and the banner doesn't display for me either. Yet my site (still building) works with the banner.

Have you checked the banner code, or maybe I've connected to the wrong site.

It now shows 3 banners (all on the same line) which are each of a regular size now Smiley The first one is clickable, but the others are not.

Problems with Referrals Banner.

I was just trying to get the banners to come up as gifs.....

There should now be just one banner on the top of the page.

Funny when I right click and show source in I.E 6.0 the line

<img src="http://portal.plus.net/images/banners/banner_2.gif" border="0" width="320" height="32"></a>

is not there.

I wonder if I have a banner ad blocker running some where Huh?
