Using OE is a problem, download thunderbird and use it.

but anyhow no,. compacting messages wont be the problem.. when you say wont delete.. do you mean localy or from server or from both?

Hi,

What actually happens when you try to delete your messages? and do you mean from the delete bin, or from within the inbox or a folder.

You could try checking your Outlook Express options menu (tools>options) to check that you haven't inadvertently changed anything. Have you installed any software since the problem occurred? Spam Filtering software that integrates with Outlook Express for example?

This inbox, it's not a hotmail inbox is it?

And you don't get an error message when you delete, it just doesn't work?

Ive seen this before and the solution that fixed it was to create a temp folder anywhere "my Docs" will do, then move all the dbx files that outlook express has stored into the temp folder you created

restart OE then close it down and restore all the dbx files back to where they
came from

to find them start OE go to tools options maintainence click on store folder
and this will give you the path to the dbx files

dont even begin to ask me how or why this worked but it did, i cant gaurantee
it will work for you but its worth a go
