Open port question

Hi

Since installing and setting up my Solwise SAR130 router,I have noticed that when I visited "grc.com" I noticed that ports 21 ftp,23 telnet and 80 http showed as being open, whereas before when I was on ISDN they were either stealthed or closed.I found some informative messages regarding this subject posted in this forum back in June/July.From what was written there can I safely assume that is merely the router responding, and that as I have the "Mac" firewall enabled that it does'nt matter that much and the "baddies" will not in actual fact reach the computer itself?
Not paranoid merely intrested as I feel reasonably secure, but am open to correction on that front

I would set a rule for 21 & 23 to stealth them, 80 isnt so important. But most routers have Holes you need to plug from the default settings. Others to check 254 and 255 see if you can telnet into your router.

Have a look at http://www.chrismarsh.co.uk/SAR110/stealth.asp for details of how to stealth your router.
