New Domain Uploading

Hi All,

I have just created my new .co.uk domain and wonder how you upload to it. Firstly what is the host details - I presume it is my own domain, but is this separate from my FrontPage domain?

Can I use FP to upload to my .co.uk domain or must I use an FTP client?

Hope someone can point in the right direction or at the correct thread, whatever. Many thanks.

When you buy your domain with PlusNet it points to the same place as www.username.plus.com. You can already upload files in there for when your domain becomes active.

It is also possible to say that your domain should be in a sub-folder - this is set in the Domain Control Panel and again should be accessible now (I don't know about the DCP bit, but you can choose the subfolder and upload there just now)

New Domain Uploading

By a process of (a little) elimination, I can upload to my FP web with FP and my .co.uk address with FTP and they both seem completely separate.

It is what you say I guess, the .co.uk stuff is currently in the same web space as my www.username.plus.com.

This is OK for me, as I can run them separately. It would be nice to upload to my domain with FP, and I might be able to - I don't know. But that's enough late nite oil for tonite Smiley

Thanks.

New Domain Uploading

Just to add some light to your questions.

The main Plusnet server is a seperate space from your Front Page server and has seperate names.
To access anything you have in the Front page server you would use http://fp.username.plus.com
To access anything on the main server it would be http://www.username.plus.com or http://www.domainname.co.uk.

As they are totally seperate it is not possible to have your .co.uk domain hosted on the Front Page server which is a bit of a bind for those who use Front Page to produce their site

If your site is on the FP server and you want to use a .co.uk name for it you will have to arrange some redirection either by using frames or by using the html refresh command to send a request to the right place.
