NOKIA E Series WiFi Phone wont register

I have a new nokia E60 mobile with wifi voip.

I have tried every possible option on configuring it but it always comes back "registration failed". I have opened port 5060 on my router and when I try to register the port is opened.

Anyone else managed to get this to work?

Thanks

Hi

Did you ever manage to get your E60 configured for VOIP? I'm trying just now with the same phone, but it is just forvering looping on the registering page.

Cheers

No I have given up.

I got the impression that the codecs used by Nokia were not compatible with plustalk. I understand that some people have got theirs working using an intermediate pbx such pbxes.org but I havent.

Great phones just dont bother with the SIP bit.

Hey,

I'm pretty sure Stew's got an E61 so will try and mess around with that assuming his permission Wink

That would be great.

I did raise a ticket some time ago with plusnet and nokia and neither could help but I would be interested to know how you get on.

Thanks

Any more on this?
I have it configured and working with sipgate.co.uk (they even have a setup guide for the Nokia E61), but working with plustalk would be better.

Got mine working on sipgate also.

sipgate supports codec G.711 which plusnet does not.

Nokia advised we that the following codecs are supported:
G.711
iLBC
AMR-NB
G.729b

Plusnet tell me that none of these are supported.

I wonder if there are any plans to change this. As my subscription includes free voip calls I cannot use I may have to change my subscription.

Hi,

Haven't had the chance to have a play around with this yet (been pretty busy of late Sad).

Perhaps someone can provide details as to how they have things configured with sipgate to save me a bit of messing around?

If you register on sipgate (free) you can link to a page which shows all the configuration settings for an E60/E61.

It is all very straightforward.

Thanks for trying.

NOKIA E Series WiFi Phone wont register

Hi,

Thanks for that. I have registered an account as it's likely to come in handy should I need to test any other aspects of our Broadband Phone service.

I haven't access to the phone at the moment but I've had a look at the setup guide provided by sipgate here:-
https://secure.sipgate.co.uk/user/configreader.php?show_conf=nokiae60

If I was to try and configure the device to use PlusTalk Broadband Phone then I would try the following. As mentioned this isn't necessarily going to work and is just an assumption based on Sipgate's guide and what I know about our service. there are some grey ares that I have question marked as I don't know what the alternative options are. Anyone able to give it a go?

Profile

-------

Profile name: PlusTalk
Service Profile: IETF
Default access point: Your WLAN
Public user name: <sip ID>@sip.plus.net
Use compression: Yes (G.729??)
Registration: When needed (?)
Use security: No

Proxy server
------------

Proxy server address: sip.plus.net
Realm: sip.plus.net
User name: <sip ID> (? Shouldn't really be required)
Password: <account password> (? Shouldn't really be required)
Allow loose routing: Yes (?)
Transport type: UDP
Port: 5060

Regist. server
--------------

Registrar serv. addr.: sip.plus.net
Realm: sip.plus.net
User name: <sip ID>
Password: <account password>
Transport type: UDP
Port: 5060

Dial 7000 to test.

Tried all your settings but doesnt even register.
The sipgate profile regsiters immediately.

I have also set:
Use Compression to YEs and NO
Allow Loose Routing to Yes and No.
Registration: when needed and always on both tried but the relate to how the phone registers with sip provider ie on request or permanently.

Hope this helps.

How about changing the realm (one at a time and both at one) of the proxy and registr. server to <username>.plus.com?

Nokia E 60, works fine behind NAT

My Nokia E60 works fine behind my NAT router. Just text nokia to 64446 to get the config file sent to you. Works on E series and N80i.
