Its worth noting that this is still beta.

Known issues include corruption of network settings including adsl and the usual incompatabilities with other software and hardware.

Good when it works but be careful.

My one concern is the one of track record.

I in no way put MS down, for there attempts to help remove this issue, but there track record coming into security is one that puts me off.

I know where your coming from.

We have all spent too many hours pluging MS gaps.

In fairness, i attended a seminar hosted by MS regarding security for systems and networks.

They are at least attempting to address the issue and some of the plans might actually work. Hope this is going to be one of them.

The antivirus side of things is on its way...that will be worth waiting for.

And you can't use it with Windows ME either.

The registration process was ridiculous and I gave up on it.

I hope they wont include it in the release of Longhorn or sommit as it will be WMP all over again, even though its a good idea, it also works quite well.. I be impressed.

Trouble is I guess this is less about helping the consumer and more about increasing MS profits. I find it amusing that MS cannot plug some of the security holes in their software but will sell you security software.

This http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/01/07/microsoft_anti_spyware/ was the article at The Register.
