MS Internet Explorer shows Red Text on Blue Background

Hi everyone,

Something's gone TWANG on my MS IE installation. I have a Pentium 2 400 MHz running Win 2000. I have prepared the following very simple test web page :

<html>

<head>
</head>
<body>
<p>Hello World</p>
</body>
</html>

This bizarrely displays Hello World in red text on a blue background. Once upon a time it would default to black text on a white background. Has anyone seen this before and would they know what needs fixing on my IE installation ?

Fixing the test page to read <body bgcolor="#FFFFFF" text="#000000"> will of course work but is not the answer I'm looking for (and I know IE is not the only browser out there) Wink

Thanks !

In IE, if you go to tools -> intenet optons then click the colours button, set colours to 'use windows default'.

If it is already set then something has changed your registry.

Hi Peter,

Excellent - your first solution worked - so no need to dig around in the registry.

Many thanks ! Cheesy
