Internet Blocking

I would like to setup some software to block particular sites.

I have a young brother and sister who dont need to see that latest offering from Pamela Anderson or meet people in chatrooms!

Can anyone recommend some software? preferably free.

thanks,
Gareth

you should be able to use standard IE options to prevent sites being viewed.
Thius may not be satisfactory if certain household members want to view these sites.
you can up the rating in content and add passwords,
also add sites to the approved sites under content >> content advisor (never flag) to prevent any access to particular sites.

Internet Blocking

I have three kids, and needed the same facility, i.e. selective "parental controls".

I went for Norton Internet Security 2003, which embraces Firewall, Anti-Virus, Privacy Control (blocks or warns when personal info is travelling over a non-secure link) etc.

I bought it from amazon.co.uk Marketplace for £30 + p&p for a pukka copy without manuals. It includes 2-years worth of virus updates, and iffy site names, which you can block by category, rather than having to specify individual sites.

thanks for responses.

I've used Internet Explorer's built in function for now, will monitor the history though, and possibly upgrade to Norton if the little buggers persist.

thanks again,
Gareth
