Ghost9-v-PlusNet

Hi.
Ghost9 now backs up to URLs so.. I am trying to setup auto incremental backups into my almost empty webspace.

After much fiddling I have managed to get NG to accept and verify the correct folder (\\nmercer.plus.com\htdocs\backs\ ). It then throws up a box asking for Domain, Username and Password. No matter what I stick in here it thinks about it, and then spits back at me that I have to have a correct domain, username and password?

Any suggestions/help even if to say it is impossible will be appreciated

I don't use ghost but the URL to your webspace is http://www.nmercer.plus.com/backs/ as nmercer.plus.com points to your Plusnet IP address and not your homepages (www) webspace.

http://www.nmercer.plus.com already points to your htdocs directory so htdocs must not be put in the URL itself.

This is driving me nuts!
It asks for a folder name in the format \\server\share\folder

\\nmercer\plus.com\backs is accepted then it needs
Domain
Username
Password

Have tried every permutation I can think of Help (pretty please)

It sounds like it does not use a URL but a network share (a shared network drive which is a drive or folder on another PC which you mount or share on your PC).

Are you sure it supports backups from URLs because what you are specifying is not a URL but a network share. Maybe you are getting confused about a network backup and a backup from a URL. A URL would be in the format http://www.nmercer.plus.com/drectory and a network shared drive would be \\servername\directoryname.

Yep, that's it Peter.

I'm getting too long in the tooth for this game TeeHee. Many thanks for jogging the non-existant memory box.
