Forums are a secure site?

Recently, whilst browsing the PlusNet forums, I get a padlock in the taskbar, and I'm asked if I want to view the non-secure content.

The padlock then comes and goes on different topics. Do I need to add to my 'Trusted sites'?

If I double-click on the padlock I get this certificate

It seems to be to do with Secure Socket Layer:

Does this make any sense, or should I raise a ticket?

no it does not mean you have to add it to the trusted zone, it means that you are going from an SSL enabled site to a non enabled SSL site and thus leaving the SSH tunnel that has been created for you to view this site.

The padlock is indeed used to represent the fact you are viewing an encrypted page , as can be seen by the URL httpS:// not the standard http://

Hope that helps a bit

Forums are a secure site?

The same has happened to me too as recently as this week
but only for about five minutes in the forums
the time before that was about six months ago but again very briefly
so more of a very rare minor annoyance to me

i dont have an answer for you dont know what causes it as the forums are not using secure pages just thought id let you know your not the only one to notice it
might be worth an ask at support if this is something thats happening
all the time your in the forums

Make sure you view the portal forums at http://portal.plus.net/central/forums/index.php rather than https:// - before the Portal Upgrade, this used to be forced but is not currently. While waiting on PlusNet to change this, thats all you can do unfortunately.

Thanks, all. I know how to stop it now.
