Flash MX problems :(

Im currently designing a website with a flash menu banner at the top. I use Flash MX Professional 2004 (Version 7.0) and am in a bit of a problem.

One problem im having is making the menu's link to webpages. The other problem is that you have to hover actually on the text to make it appear as a link. I want to be able to hover anywhere over the text.

Here is the test file i exported

http://www.bootlegsandbsides.co.uk/Test.swf

and here is the actual save file of my project

http://www.bootlegsandbsides.co.uk/Sirhc.fla

Any help would be very appreciated Smiley

In flash, BUTTONS are the equivalent of links. So the object ypu use to link MUST be a button.

You can define the hotspot part of the button i/e/ which part of the button will act as a link and make the mouse pointer change. You do that in the 4th frame from the right in the button edit page.

Email me the FLA file (saving it so it can be compatible for MX 6) as i'm not at home right now.

Press F8 when you have a bit of text selected and convert it into a button. Then double click on the button to edit it in place. You should see four frames "UP OVER DOWN HIT"

The hit frame is basically an invisible frame that describes the shape of the button you have made. So just draw a rectangle in that frame (making sure that its a keyframe by pressing F6 after click below HIT) at the size you want the button to be.
