Failure to go to the next web page

I have had a problem in a number of websites where I click on a link, but I am not taken to the next web page. For example, I have tried to log a ticket on Plusnet, but when I click on the <New Item> link, all that happens is that the current page is refreshed and I am taken back to the top of the page. I cannot be certain, but I think that I have been having this problem only since I installed McAfee security software. Has anyone else had a problem like this? Is there anything that I can do to fix it?

Hi,

I I have not known McAfee software to cause a problem like this before.
In fact I have never had any problems with McAfee Security.
What browser do you use ?
Have you installed any other software recently, or have you checked for any spyware or virusus etc.

Thanks for the reply, Julie. I mention McAfee because that's the only thing that has changed in respect of internet access, and I don't remember having this problem before loading McAfee.

If anyone has any other ideas, I'd be glad to hear them.

Look in your browser settings and Security suite for how popups are handled.
The links you say don't work are likely to be popups.

Thanks, Seventhstar. That turns out to be the correct answer. As the old saying goes, everything's easy when you understand it!
