Domains and email (newbie)

Hi

I have registered a new .co.uk domain name through plusnet (who are also hosting it) and now need know what to do next. Most importantly I want to use the domain name for emails. How do I start/ what do I need to set up?

Sorry if this sounds a bit daft but i'm new to this

Regards

If I were you I would do the following.

Create a folder in your htdocs space that will hold your files for the domain.
Create a index.htm file in this folder. This will be the home page of your site.
Go to the Domain names link on the left of the portal and set it up so that your domain is pointed to the folder you created.

Any e-mail to your whoever@domainname will arrive in your normal Plusnet mail box and can be collected from there.

Hope this all helps.

Simply create mail boxes on your +net acc to match your domain name. So if you wanted sales@yourdomain.co.uk anything you did on your +net account would pass through so if you create a sales address on plus net sales@username.plus.com and sales@yourdomain.co.uk would all end up at the same point

Yes just set up a new mail account on outlook or outlook express using your domain name then when you send you will have the option of using existing or new.
Make sure that you put the return address as your domain mail address.
