Domain name rerouting

Ok so I followed the instructions re repositioning my own website to a subdirectory of htdocs and adjusted my settings to point my url www.technotron.co.uk to the subdirectory and all is well.

Now how can I redirect my default web address to another subdirectory so that I can use it for an entirely different website.

Domain name rerouting

Assuming this is leading on from the Domain name question topic, I don't think the intention was for the default web address to be moved to another subdirectory, but rather that it should redirect to the subdirectory with your domain name's URI in the address bar.

The suggestion was to use a "meta" element in the header section of the index.html document in the htdocs directory. Something similar to this:
    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://www.domain-name/index.html" />
A slightly different solution is to use a .htaccess file with a redirect statement:
    Redirect /index.html http://www.domain-name/index.html

I don't think tools are provided to relocate your default web site to a subdirectory, although you could use one of the techniques described above to achieve a smilar result.
